Risk-based AML compliance controls for crypto exchange orders
Legal

AML Policy

PrivateCryptoSwap.io applies a risk-based approach to anti-money-laundering, counter-terrorist-financing and sanctions controls. The objective is to provide crypto-to-crypto exchange while identifying transactions that may require restriction or additional review.

Risk-Based Transaction Screening

Exchange orders may be screened using blockchain risk indicators and other transaction information available to the service.

Screening can consider factors such as:

  • sanctions exposure;
  • links to stolen or hacked funds;
  • fraud or scam indicators;
  • darknet-market or prohibited-service exposure;
  • ransomware or extortion indicators;
  • unusually high-risk transaction patterns;
  • other activity inconsistent with lawful use of the service.

A risk indicator does not necessarily mean that a user has committed wrongdoing. It can require additional review before an order is completed or released.

Additional Review and Verification

Additional verification requested for a flagged crypto exchange order

Eligible standard orders can begin without routine KYC. Additional information or verification may be requested when an order triggers a risk condition, legal requirement or compliance review.

Depending on the circumstances, the service may request information reasonably necessary to understand the transaction, source of funds or beneficial ownership.

Prohibited Use

The service must not be used to facilitate unlawful activity, including money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion, fraud, theft, ransomware, trafficking or other prohibited conduct.

Orders associated with prohibited activity may be rejected, suspended, refunded where legally and technically possible, or handled in accordance with applicable compliance obligations.

Sanctions and High-Risk Activity

PrivateCryptoSwap.io may restrict transactions involving sanctioned persons, sanctioned jurisdictions or blockchain addresses associated with prohibited exposure.

A transaction can also be delayed or rejected when risk cannot be resolved to a level acceptable under the service's controls.

Order Holds, Refunds and Cooperation

Where an order is placed under review, completion time may exceed the normal exchange flow. Refund availability depends on the status of the transaction, blockchain conditions, legal restrictions and whether returning funds is permitted.

The service may cooperate with valid legal requests or compliance obligations where required.

Data Retention and Contact

Compliance reviews can require retention of transaction and support information for legitimate security, fraud-prevention or legal purposes.

See the Privacy Policy for information about data handling. Questions about an order under review can be sent through the contact page.
